The Pier House , Diamond lake - Cassopolis Michigan

Challenge:

An extremely narrow site which had to accommodate an existing garage structure out at the street for a guest house. Also, the owner loved sitting on the pier.

Solution:

To accommodate the owner's love of sitting peacefully on the pier, we incorporated a "pier" allusion all the way from street to water, allowing the wood floor and main gallery to go through the entire structure as a major organizing element.
